  • High society happy or sad Part 2

Posted on February 5, 2011 12:02 am by Richard

There is a wealth of happiness in the simplest and most basic things in life. They have for the most part been a constant with people from the moment we stood upright and walked on two feet, and there was no need to pay to experience them. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

  • High society happy or sad Part 1

Posted on February 4, 2011 12:02 am by Richard

The saying money can’t buy happiness comes from years of casual observation. It seems to most that after the necessity luxury line has been passed while shopping, money simply becomes a sort of happiness placebo. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

  • Wikileaks good or bad Part 5

Posted on December 13, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

With just the smallest fraction of what WikiLeaks has to release out for public display, the fallout is enormous by all accounts. With government after government condemning the leaks, it is a bit amusing that they are not condemning the content. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

Posted on November 11, 2010 12:00 am by Richard

No Matter how good the intentions, no matter how Noble the mission, no matter about anything good, involve yourself with Thaksin and whatever respect you accumulated during your entire life is instantly destroyed and people start to look at you like dirt. Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart is just starting to realize that because of his accidently on purpose encounter with Thaksin in Norway. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

Posted on October 26, 2010 12:04 am by Richard

There is a huge difference in the approach on how to treat an ailment in eastern medicine and western medicine. When you sit back and look at all the standards of practice, you may discover why so much money is spent in health care. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

  • China’s venom filled mirror

Posted on October 10, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

It is not often a country puts on a show that resembles an irate husband about ready to give his wife a good beating. But that in fact is what China did when it was announced that someone they had locked up for self serving reasons just was awarded the world’s most prestigious award being the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize, and that award was tied to the reason the person was locked up. • Bruised egos in Blagojevich trial

Posted on August 19, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

Convicting someone for something only hinted at is a bit difficult to do. That is particularly so if one or more of the jurors is an Alpha and just doesn’t follow along and uses their own observations and conclusions of the alleged crime. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

  • Thailand’s concern about media bias Part 5

Posted on June 4, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

When looking at a specific issue of the Red Shirt anti government group and the violence and mayhem they brought, comments from journalists are greeted with extreme emotions from both sides. So the desire to alter, persuade or otherwise change the objectiveness of a journalist simply places the journalist in the position of being a tool for propaganda of one side or the other. Posted on June 3, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

When the media becomes part of the news itself, the ability to be impartial simply disappears without a trace. The journalists become part of the story and they will do as any human would, and that is to defend their position. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

  • Thailand’s concern about media bias Part 3

Posted on June 2, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

When a government engages in censorship, the motives must be questioned. When a government involves itself in censorship of the media, it places the media at odds with the government and no longer is the media a neutral third party observer and a sense of bias is observed. Posted on June 1, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

Nobody wants to be put down. In fact we do our best to put on our best face and do our best to contribute to the bigger picture. But when it comes to criticism people have to take the good with the bad when viewed through the eyes of other people. The reason for this is we all have our opinions, and as long as expressed opinions are not malicious, we should listen and perhaps get a few ideas on how to improve. Continue reading → Post ID 8521

If there was ever some topic that would be ultimately uncomfortable for Thais to hear the answer, this would be it. So because Thailand seems to be so preoccupied in marking up the mirror and not dealing with the source of the reflection, Connecting the Dots felt this would be a good topic to explore. Posted on March 25, 2010 12:03 am by Richard
