It seems that when a populist policy goes bad, the damage to the Government is in direct per portion to the money involved. So in the case where 130 Billion Baht (4.3 Billion USD) is involved, it stings a lot. In this case the demographic population of Thailand that elected the Pro-Thaksin government is now a major victim of Thaksin sponsored corruption, and because of that their eyes have been opened by their empty wallets and their empty stomachs. Thai Military’s position amidst political turmoil
It is obvious both sides of the political battle in Thailand are concerned where the military stands. After all, they do have the power to bring this conflict to an end if they so decide. The military has been doing it’s best to not get involved, but there are subtle signs as to what side they would pick if things turn particularly nasty. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thai Election Commission withholding elections
Thailand’s Election Commission (EC) has made it loud and clear that the elections will not continue until disputes between the Thaksin proxy Government and the Anti-Thaksin protesters are resolved. This new twist may force Thaksin out of power as it looks to become a test of wills. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin’s message – Comply or die
It does not take a cryptologist to read Thaksin’s message to people that oppose him, it has been consistent ever since he first came into power. That message is ‘Stand in my way and you will be sorry.’. That includes being killed if you make a big enough problem for him. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin’s clock running out
There is a new player in the game against Thaksin and his massively corrupt regime, and it is clearly not on Thaksin’s side. The new player is the clock, and when it runs out, it most likely will signal the end of this round. We say this round because Thaksin will continue to try again and again until he draws his last breath. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin proxy Government criminalizing peaceful fight against corruption
The title of this entry says it all loud and clear. Thaksin’s proxy government has set up the conditions to make it a crime to peacefully fight corruption. This type of behavior by a Government is not the signature of democracy, but it is the signature of a dictator. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin proxy Government threatens victims of their corruption
When a company who has suffered losses under a corrupt Government gets threats from that Government for taking a stand and supporting people who look to end corruption, you start to see a real reason to get angry. It is nothing short of a classic bully tactic, and the bully is hoping the companies will back down. But with the momentum and the growing number of people angry, it all is likely to just backfire and bring even more pressure down on the Government. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin proxy Government trying to justify State of Emergency
In what is looking more and more like a completely staged situation, Thaksin’s proxy Government is doing it’s best to convince people the peaceful Thai protesters are violent. Adding to that the strong evidence the violence was sanctioned by Thaksin to justify calling a State of Emergency, you begin to see another one of Thaksin’s signature moves of creating a condition to justify the means. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin proxy Government self inflicts more wounds
When the Election Commission (EC) expressed concerns to the Government about the elections and that they should be delayed, the Government did its best to ignore that and look to cite various reasons why it had to move forward. Then when what the EC predicted actually happened, Caretaker Labor Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung made very public threats to the EC saying that they would be held responsible that things did not go well. Needless to say when a party list member of any political party makes threats to the EC, the threatening political party may just find themselves disqualified with a Red Card or worse for attempting to manipulate the elections by making threats to the EC. Thaksin’s two hit approach on elections
With the numbers simply not there to create a new Thai Government in the potential February 2 elections, one has to think like Thaksin to understand his logic. He is simply thinking that many times if not always it takes more than one hit of a hammer to drive a nail. It is clear Thaksin is hoping for a second election to top off Parliament’s head count. Organized attacks on protesters suggest Thaksin involvement
As attacks on anti Government protesters become more organized with the use of military weapons, the list gets very short as to who would have access to such weapons. When you figure in who would most benefit from disrupting the protests, the list is quickly reduced to a list of one. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Thaksin bleeding Red Shirt support
When the Red Shirt leaders called a Red Shirt rally in the past, pulling together numbers was not an issue. They flocked by the thousands to the rally site and did not show any wavering in support of Thaksin. But now it seems those days are gone and by Thaksin’s own hand. Continue reading Post ID 14709

Spanking Thaksin
There was a time when Thaksin Shinawatra could seemingly get away with everything in court. Every challenge to him in court went his way causing people to roll their eyes wondering why the court ruled against common sense and obvious conclusions. That was then, but those days seem to be gone thanks to sound advise and guidance given to the high court judges by the King. Continue reading Post ID 14709
