  • Thailand’s vote buying neutralizer

Posted on June 6, 2014 12:02 am by Richard

    Vote buying neutralizer

A vote buying neutralizer certainly sounds fantastic and a bit hard to believe, particularly so for a country that suffers from it. However Thailand now has the opportunity to actually install just such a neutralizer as a direct result of the opportunities political reform offers. All things considered all Thais want this, that is except for the self serving politicians who would buy votes to get into office. Continue reading → Post ID 15053

  • Thailand’s political problems all come down to education

Posted on December 23, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

Saying Thailand’s education system is very far below par is an understatement. It is the root cause of the political problems that have been plaguing Thailand for many years. But to say the Thai education system is the first domino in the line would be wrong. Thai political problems are both the end result and the cause, and that is the first domino in the line. • Thailand’s arrogant political policies

Posted on September 6, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

It has not always been this way in that only supporters of one person reaped the rewards of Government handouts. The fact that this is no surprise is because that one person years ago announced that was his policy. Support me and be happy, don’t support me and have a much harder life. Needless to say, that one person is Thaksin Shinawatra. Continue reading → Post ID 15053

  • Telling Thaksin what he wants to hear

Posted on December 28, 2012 12:03 am by Richard

As for changing the Constitution and the expected difficulties, it is already apparent that it will be an up hill battle to get the votes needed. Even some of the high ranking members of the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) have expressed doubts when doing a simple reality check. But as Thaksin is Thaksin and he listens to nobody except himself, the decision to go forward with the vote has been made. Continue reading → Post ID 15053

  • Thaksin trapped by rice

Posted on December 21, 2012 12:02 am by Richard

There is little doubt the rice pledging scheme hatch by Thaksin is now starting to become a nightmare for him. No matter how you cook this rice, for Thaksin it has become a catch 22. Continue reading → Post ID 15053

  • Thaksin ignoring Thai court on Constitution

Posted on December 19, 2012 12:02 am by Richard

If you sit back and watch all the various positions taken on changing Thailand’s Constitution, you start to see that some crucial things are getting lost in the blur. One of the most important things is the criteria the Thai court said must be met before any changes can be made, and for the most part that is being ignored. Continue reading → Post ID 15053

  • Thai Constitution changes bait cheaters

Posted on January 21, 2011 12:03 am by Richard

Stepping back and taking a look at the suggested changes for Thailand’s Constitution, we see traps being set for slow learners. Although the new Constitution has been in effect for several election cycles, it seems some political candidates are just not catching on that the playing field has changed.
