Finding work Part 1

No matter where you look, finding a job is going to be a challenge. Connecting the Dots has decided to write a periodic series on how to find or create a job with input from professionals who know the secrets and to identify the elusive common sense approach to a positive cash flow.

So here you are reading this post hoping to find the magic bullet to find a job. You have all the tools but you are just not sure how to use them. It has been a while and you know competition will be brutal no matter how you spin it. So the first thing is where to start.

As simple as it sounds, you need to sleep on it. This may sound stupid at first but the key here is to be at the top of your game. We all have experienced that we are brighter and at the top of our game when we are rested. So get a good nights sleep before you start your job hunting. It may be difficult because you are loaded with anxiety and stress, but it needs to be done to give yourself that edge that can make the difference.

If you find it difficult to sleep try natural methods first and avoid trips to the pharmacy. One of the fastest ways to fall asleep naturally is to eat turkey. You need to eat anyway so when money is tight, using something that serves more than one purpose is a no brainer. Turkey and particularly the breast meat contains high amounts of tryptophan. Besides being an amino acid, it is also a natural sedative. So if you have ever wondered why everyone is so lethargic and sleepy after a turkey dinner, now you know. Psychiatric hospitals serve turkey several times a week just for that reason.

It is also important to lower your stress and anxiety levels. The best way to do this also does not require the use of medication. Physical activity of any type will produce endorphins otherwise known as the feel good hormone. You are not working so there is no excuse to drop a few pounds as it will also help your chances of landing a job. Yoga and meditation are also good options. You can even seek the help of a hypnotherapist to teach you self hypnosis to tune your thoughts to be as focused as possible. This is nothing new in sports as the top players and top teams use hypnosis to get that edge to be at the top of their game and win.

It is very important to stay away from any medications that effect your upper brain functions. You need to be at the top of your game when going after a job. So natural approaches are always first choice to eliminate side effects. Good food and physical activity are the best choices all the way around.

So now off you go and get a good nights sleep and check back tomorrow for part 2 or hit the subscribe button at the top of the page.
