  • The Katrina template

Posted on September 3, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

Is is both ironic and interesting that the US is making such a big thing about the 5 year anniversary of hurricane Katrina. For now at this point in US history it is a significant event that overwhelmed the resources of the US. But unfortunately in the future it will be seen in a different light as just a routine big storm with typical and expected damage. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

  • Global warming the believe it or not mind game

Posted on July 31, 2010 12:03 am by Richard

It has been an interesting watch from the sidelines as some try to make people believe that global warming is a hoax. This and the emails saying data is wrong or distorted, is just part of the mind game. The question is who is behind this quasi conspiracy if anyone at all. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

Posted on June 21, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

The one thing constant about global warming is our inability to nail down when things will start to get real bad. Things are happening far sooner than we could ever have imagined or predicted. So looking at the major weather swings that have started this year, it may well be that the start of the major disasters has arrived. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

Posted on January 23, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

With a sudden change in climate, we simply will not have time to compensate for food production. Crops will suddenly fail and near global famine will set in quickly perhaps in months. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

  • Sudden global climate change expected Part 1

Posted on January 22, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

The last chance global warming summit for the most part was a failure. And listening to the inconsistency of the spin from each country on the outcome simply spells despair. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

  • Global warming point of no return

Posted on December 23, 2009 12:00 am by Richard

In some disaster movies there is an ingenious idiot that seems to bypass or disable some safety feature or failsafe causing a horrendous catastrophe. As with all good movies, they have their basis in reality, and in Copenhagen during the last chance climate summit we may have just seen that happen. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

  • Ancient Biohazards emerging from global warming

Posted on October 9, 2009 12:03 am by Richard

Admittedly this could be rephrased for a ‘B’ movie titled “It came from the ice”, but we are not talking movies. What we are talking about are viruses and other biologicals that have been frozen in the ice thousands of years and are now melting out from global warming. The biggest concern is we may have no natural resistance to them. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

Posted on September 28, 2009 12:02 am by Richard

If there is anything that is constant about global warming, it is the phrase that ‘global warming events are occurring faster than worst case scenario.’ The reason for this is we are rapidly approaching the final tipping point, or we may have even past it and not yet figured it out. Dead crop

As the earth continues to warm we start to pass tipping points in different parts of the world. At some point not too long from now we will pass the final tipping point that will set off rapid and major changes all with undesirable consequences. Continue reading → Post ID 10115

  • Arctic territory dispute result of global warming

Posted on September 27, 2008 12:01 am by Richard

It has not exactly been front page news, but the now open waters of the arctic that are a direct result of global warming are becoming a bit of a territory issue. If there is any sure fire thing that can lead to war, it is a dispute over real-estate. Planting a Russian flag in the sea bed at the north pole seems to say “MINE!” Continue reading → Post ID 10115
