  • WikiLeaks good or bad Part 8

Posted on January 8, 2011 12:02 am by Richard

Now that WikiLeaks has been solidly entrenched in the news of late, it was curious to see the variety of spins put on it. There has been a whole range of descriptions from bland to extremely colorful metaphors. In this installment of the series we thought we would present that wonderful array and look at who was saying them. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

  • Bank of America does WikiLeaks guilty dance

Posted on January 6, 2011 12:01 am by Richard

With Bank of America (BOA) doing what amounts to an admission that they did something very wrong, a person can only wonder just what it is that they did. What was so bad and damning that all out damage control is underway before an anticipated WikiLeaks release is the question of the moment. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

  • WikiLeaks good or bad Part 6

Posted on December 17, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

When we hear about the US military blocking access to WikiLeaks so that military personnel can not read it, the first and most obvious question one would ask is why. These are the people in harms way and one would naturally think that the more you know the safer you are. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

Posted on December 11, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

In yet more fallout from the WikiLeaks issue, apparently hackers have taken sides with WikiLeaks and ultimately the global media. Websites that have apparently caved in to political pressure to choke off WikiLeaks are now under cyber attack. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

  • Internet forum politics

Posted on October 23, 2010 12:03 am by Richard

This story may certainly upset some people who run forum type websites. In particular if the website in question tries to posture itself as neutral, but in fact is consumed in its own internal politics banning hoards of people simply because they logged a legitimate complaint or concern. Posted on September 24, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

There is hardly a person that has not heard of the fallout from the almost burned Quran (Koran) in Florida. Riots, people dying and more in a variety of places. But this entry is not so much about that, this entry is about people’s reaction to seeing that type of behavior over something that never happened. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

For Americans this is just one of those things where the laws of the land seem in error. This is not the first time it has happened as it is frequent in communities where religion and state tends to blend or clash in ways the Constitution frowns on. But in this case while troops are fighting and dying as a result of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, it spark strong feelings from coast to coast. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

The food industry is the one industry that will survive a nuclear war. No matter what state the world is in, people need to eat. But with the BP oil disaster growing more massive each day, generations of small seafood businesses along the Gulf of Mexico are laying off all their employees and closing the doors because the food has become poisoned with oil. The issue is those doors may stay closed forever because the oil will be around longer than most people live. Continue reading → Post ID 11751

Posted on June 4, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

When looking at a specific issue of the Red Shirt anti government group and the violence and mayhem they brought, comments from journalists are greeted with extreme emotions from both sides. So the desire to alter, persuade or otherwise change the objectiveness of a journalist simply places the journalist in the position of being a tool for propaganda of one side or the other. When the media becomes part of the news itself, the ability to be impartial simply disappears without a trace. The journalists become part of the story and they will do as any human would, and that is to defend their position. Continue reading → Post ID 11751
