  • Understanding Thaksin Red Shirt violence

Posted on December 13, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

They march in huge mobs citing Democracy and take a sense of pride in doing so. But they have no problems to attack people who have different political views sending them home bloody and bruised. To them that is what they call democracy, but to most everyone else, it is anything but. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

  • Thaksin’s Pheu Thai Party running out of fuel

Posted on March 18, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

With populist policies driving the popularity of the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) and more or less keeping them in power, there is a limit on just how much funding there is to make them happen. With huge financial bleeding getting harder and harder to ignore and seeing that some populist policies are unsustainable without Bankrupting Thailand, some serious discussions are going on about the ability of the PTP to be reelected into power if there is no money for populist policies. Posted on October 15, 2012 6:05 pm by Richard

Some may not notice the four year economic cycle that involves a lot of anxiety and breath holding. None the less it is there and when it comes around, wallets close and all eyes are on the future horizon waiting for the ten or so words that says it is over. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

Posted on October 27, 2010 12:00 am by Richard

American voter amnesia is not as bad as a goldfish, but it does seem at least at the moment some have forgotten who got the country into the mess it is in. Aside from the distracting motivational hype from the Tea Party movement, it seems the horse may be about to run back into the burning barn. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

  • Thaksin’s score Part 3

Posted on July 23, 2010 12:02 am by Richard

As the Thaksin on the run saga continues and he wears out his welcome country after country, his world is getting smaller and smaller. It would seem that countries that have a low number Thaksin is banned from entry. The ones he manages to sneak into quickly toss him out or encourage him to leave by not allowing him to launch political attacks from their soil. Sooner or later he may end up in Haiti as they could use his money big time. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

So as Thaksin’s globe hopping continues, you begin to see some interesting patterns shaping up. He has no place he can call home, and where he stays he is constantly looking over his shoulder as well as having a huge negative cash flow to buy that stay out of jail insurance. If you decided to keep score on the convicted fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra and who he associates with, it becomes an interesting reflection of what his world is like today. In a disturbing yet expected report, Thaksin has once again ignored all and set about turning the Red Shirts into a structured military style force. This simply means Thaksin most definitely plans confrontation, and the odds of blood in the streets of Bangkok have just gone up. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

Posted on October 14, 2009 12:01 am by Richard

In classic Thaksin arrogance, Thaksin has set out to ignore the collective will of the Thai people and to undo the August 2007 vote to accept or reject the proposed new Constitution. Because the vote did not go the way Thaksin wanted, it is clear that classic Thaksin behavior is still alive and well. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

Posted on September 3, 2009 12:00 am by Richard

The planned September 19, 2009 rally by Thaksin’s red shirts has but one reason. That reason is to re-vilify the people Thaksin sees as his enemies. For the universities that teach people to become mental health professionals, Thaksin is a real time example of the progression of a psychotic personality. Continue reading → Post ID 14525

  • Thaksin primes more division in Thailand

Posted on July 28, 2009 12:01 am by Richard

Hidden in the birthday celebrations is the food for division. The nurturing of the thought that Thaksin was just having a bout of bad luck and that various ceremonies would help remove that bad luck, is just another way of moving people’s view to disrespect the courts authority and ruling by thinking it was luck and not anything at all to do with violation of the law.
