Posted on November 2, 2011 5:01 pm by Richard

It does not matter who you listen to or who you choose to believe in the government about the status of the flood in Bangkok. The fact is reports from independent journalists and TV news tell a tale of flood waters advancing about 2km inside Bangkok everyday. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Unyielding Ministers suggest corruption

Posted on November 16, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

When two Ministers in Prime Minister Abhisit’s cabinet decided to forgo stepping down to rerun for election, the first and foremost question is why. If they were found guilty of a violation that caused them to lose their MP status, and refuse to take the ethical action of stepping down, one can only conclude some personal self serving interests are clouding their better judgment. • Will the Thai governments reverse their anti foreigner trend or not?

Posted on June 14, 2010 12:01 am by Richard

Over the past 4 years or so the Thai governments in power have made it progressively more difficult for non Thais to live in Thailand. Although they embrace tourists, they have hurt the parts of the general economy that are not tourist related. Viewing the state of the Thai economy that has been in general decline over the same period of time, the big question is will the Thai government undo some of the self inflicted wounds and make it easier for non Thais to call Thailand home. • Thailand not sweet for foreign investment

Posted on September 29, 2009 12:01 am by Richard

When it comes to selecting an Asian country to set up shop in for small and medium size businesses, Thailand is far from the sweetest choice. While one government agency seeks to attract foreign investment, another agency seeks to push foreigners away. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Powerful psychological tool NLP being misused by business

Posted on September 16, 2009 12:04 am by Richard

    Dracula

Some people may have heard of NLP, and to others it means nothing. The fact is it was developed by psychologists in the 1970’s to help people with psychological problems. But now NLP is being regularly used by business without moral or ethical guidelines to be more productive. The end result is people who are quite literally messed up. Posted on December 24, 2008 12:03 am by Richard

From time to time some of what was the past finds its way to the present. When a judge in a courtroom gives ammunition for hate Americans propaganda, there needs to be a review of who America lets sit on the bench. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Gay marriage California style

Posted on November 24, 2008 12:01 am by Richard

The recent vote in California on Proposition 8 that banned gay marriage essentially is an embarrassment to human intellect. It has been at least 20 years since the proof that sexual attraction is not elective. Very simply you get what you get and have absolutely no say in the matter. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Thaksin’s next degrading of Thais

Posted on October 31, 2008 1:57 pm by Richard

There has been much concern in Thailand about a potential speech by the fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra and what problems it would cause in Thailand. Whatever happens will decide how the world sees and judges the Thai people for the next several years. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • What is in the name

Posted on August 15, 2008 12:03 am by Richard

Keeping past titles active can be confusing at the least. The way titles are treated in the USA is very different than in Thailand. To use a past tense title in a present tense situation can leave people who don’t understand with confusion at worst and a headache at best. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Strange bedfellows by ‘The Book’

Posted on July 31, 2008 12:05 am by Richard

In a few days United States President George Bush will visit Thailand before heading to the Olympic games. In a clear sense of awkward politics, there no doubt will be some Photo opportunities with United States President George Bush shaking hands with Thailand’s Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej. From there the political spin goes into overdrive. Continue reading → Post ID 12195

  • Thailand toilet troubles

Posted on July 5, 2008 12:05 am by Richard

With Thailand being amongst other things the land of Lady Boys (transvestites) and Katoys (transsexuals) there has been a new and unusual twist, a third gender toilet that can only be nicknamed a ‘Katoylet’. So in Thailand from Pattaya to Bangkok, as it stands or sits you now have a third choice of where to take a leak. Continue reading → Post ID 12195
