  • Layers of laws to stop Thaksin Part 1

Posted on June 2, 2014 12:02 am by Richard

There are not that many people in the world who can motivate the creation of laws. Each law that is considered has an underlying goal of stopping bad and promoting good, and the laws often deal with events that could be avoided or limited. But to have laws designed to stop a specific person’s self serving ambition at the expense of all others, says a lot about the person they are trying to stop. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

  • The political educating of rural Thailand

Posted on March 7, 2014 12:02 am by Richard

Thai FarmerIt was not that long ago that the people of rural northeast Thailand felt that the political happenings in Bangkok were worlds away and really made no difference in their simple but poor lifestyle. That was then, but now those simple but poor Thai people have learned the hard way of what happens when you embrace highly corrupt politicians as saviors. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

  • Signs of Thaksin’s anger

Posted on December 12, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

For some the thought of Thaksin Shinawatra smashing his way through a room filled from floor to ceiling with breakable objects brings a smile to their face. For others knowing the depths he will go to get things his way give grave concern knowing bullets will be flying at named targets. But the bottom line, is what has fallen apart for Thaksin was caused by his own arrogance and desire to be above all. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

  • Thai Government endorsing lawlessness

Posted on November 3, 2013 12:01 am by Richard

To say the classic bait and switch tactic was not expected with the amnesty Bill would be an out and out lie. It is a signature move of Thaksin Shinawatra, and anyone that is familiar with his tactics simply knew it was coming. After all, Thaksin would never endorse anything that did not benefit him in one way or another. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

Posted on August 20, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

Sometimes you can’t help but roll your eyes when The pro-Thaksin Red Shirts don’t get their way. What is worse is they escalate to threats and often violence to get things reversed to be in their favor. Looking on from the sidelines the words childish, immature, and perhaps even Narcissism come to mind. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

Posted on April 22, 2013 9:34 am by Richard

When you sit down and read today’s news in Thailand, you will suddenly realize you have seen all of this before and not that long ago. Because of that, you also know what is coming and it is not good for anyone and only looks to serve just one person. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

  • Let us off the hook Thai style

Posted on February 1, 2013 12:01 am by Richard

One of the things that keeps anybody from moving forward and bettering themselves is to simply reward their bad behavior. By removing the incentive to make self improvements and not punish bad behavior, Thailand slips a bit further behind every day. So when a given group threatens violence if they are not given amnesty, it does make you wonder a lot about what thinking is going on in the heads of these wrong doers. Posted on January 24, 2013 12:02 am by Richard

There is only so many times a person can roll their eyes before they start to develop a headache. But when watching the volume of alleged criminal accusations being leveled against former Prime Minister Abhisit and members of his Cabinet, a person familiar with behavior patterns of Thaksin Shinawatra can fairly easily connect the two together. Posted on December 28, 2012 12:03 am by Richard

As for changing the Constitution and the expected difficulties, it is already apparent that it will be an up hill battle to get the votes needed. Even some of the high ranking members of the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) have expressed doubts when doing a simple reality check. But as Thaksin is Thaksin and he listens to nobody except himself, the decision to go forward with the vote has been made. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

  • Politically motivated criminal charges now obvious

Posted on December 20, 2012 12:01 am by Richard

It does not take a degree in criminal law to see unprofessional behavior being used when bringing serious charges against Thailand’s former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. When the people bringing charges start pumping up numbers and ignoring several important things that must be considered, few conclusions can be seen as motive, and the one that is biggest is political motivation. Posted on December 16, 2012 6:33 am by Richard

    Thaksin's arrgance grows-bigger

It was not bad enough that the convicted fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra managed to get on live TV in Thailand and seems to be getting away with it, but the deja vu it generated was unnerving to more than a few. This little TV stunt Thaksin pulled off from outside of Thailand simply demonstrates many of the roots of power Thaksin had before the 2006 coup have been restored and are alive and well. Posted on April 2, 2012 2:16 am by Richard

It was so interesting to see how quickly Thai Scholars mirrored what was said here at Connecting the Dots. Usually this type of response when one Thai talks about the failures of other Thais is very un-Thai itself. But when it comes to Thaksin Shinawatra, it seems the obvious overrides any potential loss of face. Continue reading → Post ID 15032

Posted on December 14, 2011 12:01 am by Richard

When it comes to things you should not do in order to keep the peace, leave it to the pro Thaksin government to dive head first into doing the wrong thing. But when you are dealing with someone who is clearly psychotic and the only goal is to get back all that was taken, and pick up raping and pillaging the country where they left off, you have a formula that is not what the doctor ordered. Posted on April 26, 2011 12:01 am by Richard

If you take a look at the assorted border conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand over the past few years, you will start to notice a pattern emerging. Thailand desperately wants to keep others out of the process of finding and answer, and Cambodia has made several attempts to get third parties involved. When you stop and think about that alone, it most certainly seems Cambodia feels they are right, and at the same time it seems Thailand feels that they are wrong. Continue reading → Post ID 15032
